Witch Hazel Alcohol Free

Witch Hazel Alcohol Free – And its organic !

So what is this Witch hazel alcohol free that they speak of in the world?

It sometimes feels like that as the name conjures up all sorts of images and yet it’s popularity is very high and with all things eventually people ask, can you get witch hazel alcohol free? People are also seeking out organic versions and the market can be confusing.

Is natural witch hazel alcohol free?

So is this a natural remedy, yes is the answer if you choose an alcohol free option and in case you didn’t know it’s from the bark and leaves of a plant called Hamamelis virginiana which in itself is a scary title.

Important to note not all witch hazel is alcohol free. There are many that contain quite high levels of alcohol so be sure to check the label or search on my blog using search button above.

No need to fret though with the so called “scary name” and yes I know it sounds like some potion cooked up in the woods!

Its been used for an age in traditional medicine but is mainly used to help the skin / toner and is great for either male or female.

However, a quick search of the internet will show you some people say it sorts out everything. Be buyer aware!

Please bear in mind if you have a serious skin condition always check with your medical practitioner. Although if that aspect is fine I would always go organic and alcohol free as it helps with dry skin at least. Many skin conditions need the consultation of a specialist medical consultant so it is not one size all.

For many of us the use of organic natural product without alcohol and excessive chemicals can have many positive effects on the skin. You only have to look at the standard bottle of shower gel nowadays to be shocked by the ingredients.

Now back to alcohol free witch hazel. If you have heard of tannins, it has astringent effects. By acting as an astringent, witch hazel helps to constrict skin tissue. It can really help tone the skins without the side effects.

I am reviewing this witch hazel alcohol free product because does not dry out the skin regardless if you are aiming to avoid alcohol. For those who read this blog they will know I am a great advocate of alcohol free products following a liver health issue so I only review products that are alcohol free!

Now some people really shout about its prominence in other ways through a wider range of mixes and potions but this is not something I will profess to know about and any issue should be checked out with the advice of a doctor.

If you trawl the internet it is apparently the panacea for everything but I would really urge caution here. Keep to a great toner or natural skin support.

Can alcohol free witch hazel help with Sunburn?

There was a 2010 report in the Journal of the German Society of Dermatology. This did state that witch hazel may help protect the skin from UVA exposure to the sun’s rays. Personally I don’t think you can beat a high factor alcohol free sunscreen so proceed with caution here.

Having said that there is evidence that it can soothe the skin so my main aim here is a useful toner for the skin that is natural, organic and of course alcohol free

  1. Hi Phil,

This is the first time I read about WitchHazel products. Seems an interesting lot of products. I wonder if they make any products for hair and haircare. Let me research this a bit. I am going to be checking out this witch hazel alcohol-free product because it does not dry out the skin at all. Of course, if a person doesn’t mind alcohol in the product, then it’s no problem to use other products.

Thank you for covering these products which, as you say, are quite popular. maybe I need to get a few and try them.
