Overall Rank for Becks Blue Review
Now Becks Blue was one of the original and not very good either. However over the years it has improved and been the first if not the only offer in many bars. For me personally I go with the saying you have to be first or best. In Beck’s Blue case I think we are talking first rather than best. However, I can acknowledge its popularity in this Becks Blue Review.
This is probably based on my personal reaction to it and although it is classed as 0.0% I always take note of the 0.05% reference on the back which for most consumers is fine.
However, personally I would prefer other options but I know I am in the minority.
This beer is light and fresh but in the 0.05% category which although is lower than many foods it does not always sit well with me and it may be the gas content.
However, as a non-alcoholic beer it ticks many of the boxes.
- Gets overall good reviews
- Decent calorie count at 53 per bottle
- Fat free
- Well known brand so you don’t get funny looks when asking for it
- It a German product with a great history of beer making
- Smells and tastes like the alcohol option.
- Bottles or Cans available generally
- 0.05% ABV caveat
- Does not always sit well with me on the stomach
- Can be pricey for what it is
To purchase online you are looking at around £23.95 for 24 cans or £22.90 for 24 bottles but prices vary. Relatively cheap in some places but it’s hiked in some bars because it’s what “the consumer knows”. You can purchase it here.
I would say this is a social drink, down a bar or pub and not my preferred choice with food.
I have not knocked it in this review of Becks Blue. It’s really liked by the consumer and it’s one of the more established brands. With my 0.0 abv hat on I think could find better tasting beers out there but Becks Blue is convenient.
My first restaurant after lock down switched to it over from Peroni Liberia which is a real shame. Maybe their supply is easier who knows. It’s a safe stable for those wanting to reduce alcohol or driving.
Go ahead and buy this option but it would be great if we encourage the bars that only stock this brand to widen the choice available. There is a tendency to think as they stock this brand as 0.0% abv drinker we are all sorted and this includes a range of alternatives not just beer.
