Like anything, it is how we treat it that makes a difference. So no, Red Bull is not bad for you per se, but it is a bit more complicated than that.

OK, so it’s not alcohol, and you have now cut back, so you are looking for an alternative. And who can blame you? I mean, Red Bull and energy drinks are everywhere.

Well, I bet they have Red Bull, right?

Various other power drinks like Red Bull are popular because they have purported positive effects on power, performance, and general efficiency.

But many studies have linked them to adverse effects.

Not am I saying they are worse than lots of alcohol. Of course not, but if you have made the change and decision to cut back on alcohol, well, guess what?

I mean, swapping 5 pints of prominent for 5 Red Bulls is not the best switch, right?

Sure I get that alcohol-free drinks can reduce the calories but then look at a mocktail; they can be full of sugar.
